The SIMPSONS picked an interesting game to do their FUNDAY version of Monday Night Football.
The Cowboys and Bengals played a very even game, with a 20-20 tie late into the fourth quarter, in a game looking like it was destined for Overtime.
Facing a 4th and 27, the Bengals punted, the punt was blocked and inexplicably the Cowboys touched it and the Bengals recovered for the first down.
A few plays later, the Bengals scored the go-ahead Touchdown and that was enough for the 27-20 Bengals victory.
CHIEFS 19 CHARGERS 17This is how a team stays successful. Keep the game close, and find a way to position yourself for the game-winning field goal as time expires.
If this were any other kicker, the ball that hit the upright would have bounced OUT, but when you are the Chiefs, even a DOINK cannot derail your dominance.
We had the UNDER in this game as we are most impressed with the Chiefs defense this season, plus the Jim Harbaugh Chargers defense has also been playing outstanding.
VIKINGS 42 FALCONS 21Kirk Cousins did not receive a heroes' welcome as he returned to Minnesota to face his former teammates.
The game was close early, but key turnovers and critical penalties led to a fourth-straight loss by the Atlanta team.
The Vikings now are 11-2 and a real threat to the Lions for the NFC North crown, while the Falcons drop to second place behind the surging Tampa Bay Bucs.
49ERS 38 BEARS 13This game is a clear lesson for all of you bettors out there not to overreact to injuries, and also not to overreact to one game.
We admit our mistake, writing the Niners off after that loss in the snow at Buffalo. When we thought about it clearly, most all othe rteams in the NFL would also have lost this type of a game.
We also thought too highly of the Bears, as if ignoring the fact that they have underachieved their talent level all season long, assuming that they were "due" for a correction.
LESSON LEARNED.
SEAHAWKS 30 CARDINALS 18The Seahawks' defense led the way in a truly dominant victory over the home Cardinals.
Kyler Murray threw two crushing interceptions, and Geno Smith and the offense continued to move the ball well, even with starting RB Kenneth Walker III not playing due to injury.
The Seahawks have confused us all season, winning games they should not, and losing games that they should win. But we think Mike McDonald finally has his defense playing his way, and this team is a real threat.
DOLPHINS 32 JETS 26The Dolphins outlasted the Jets and took the ball first in Overtime and never gave the Jets the ball en route to a 32-26 Overtime victory.
We think that the Jets actually outplayed the Dolphins, who had far too many stalled drives in which they had to settle for field goals.
Unfortunately for Aaron Rodgers, the Jets and their fans this game is indicative of the entire 2024 season as they lose a game they easily could have won.
BUCS 28 RAIDERS 13This was an odd game, as the home team Bucs raced out to a 14-0 lead and looked poised to blow the Raiders back to Las Vegas.
Instead, the Raiders closed the gap quickly to 14-10 where that margin stayed until the Bucs went on a run, ultimately running away with a 28-13 victory.
Thanks partially to the Falcons four-game losing streak, Baker and the Bucs are now all alone at the top of the NFC South division.
Due props to Head Coach Todd Bowles and Baker Mayfield for retaking the lead in the NFC South.
STEELERS 27 BROWNS 14A tough AFC North matchup as the Steelers hosted Jameis and the Cleveland Browns in Pittsburgh.
This game was very close early, and then Russell Wilson and the Steelers took over and won it 27-14
The powerful Steelers defense bothered Jameis Winston all day, including forcing two interceptions which were pivotal to the Steelers' victory.
EAGLES 22 PANTHERS 16We don't want to dismiss the Panthers' great effort in this game, but we strongly believe that the Eagles were guilty of the dreaded "lookahead" game to their Week 15 matchup with the Steelers.
We could not believe when we read that one bettor had placed a ONE MILLION dollar bet on the Eagles money line, which was one late completion away from a loss.
For the Panthers, this is their third straight good performance against a playoff-caliber team (Chiefs, Bucs, Eagles), we see great potential building for the 2025 season.
