The Texans defeated the Cowboys in this in-state all Texas rivalry game.
The Cowboys' season is effectively over, and the Texans needed a "get-right" game after two straight losses, and an especially bad second half collapse against the NFL's best team, The Detroit Lions.
Even with this win, the Texans still are not playing their best football. CJ Stroud is not as accurate as last season, and the offensive line woes continue.
DOLPHINS 34 RAIDERS 19So, you're saying there is a chance? Yes, with this victory the Dolphins are now 4-6 and not COMPLETELY out of the race for a Wild Card (the Bills have all but locked up the AFC East)
This game was just as we predicted, the Dolphins typically feast on below-average opponents and that is who the Raiders are in the 2024 season.
Not sure what to make of this Dolphins squad, but they are definitely at least competitive with TUA back in the fold and if teams like the Broncos and Chargers stumble, could sneak in as a Wild Card.
PACKERS 20 BEARS 19LUCKY WIN, with a capital "L". For the second straight week, a team loses a game by having a field goal blocked. The Bears had the chance to win for the first time in 6 years over the Packers....but NO.
Caleb Williams outplayed Jordan Love in this game, Love looked very ordinary here, but the Packers had the luck and outlasted the Bears 20-19 at Soldier Field.
LIONS 52 JAGUARS 6This just was not fair. The Lions showed why they are our pick for the NFC championship as they unloaded on the Jaguars for a 52-6 dominating vicory
Watching this game, we felt that Jared Goff should have been removed several series before he was, but at least he did not get injured.
STEELERS 18 RAVENS 16First place in the AFC North was on the line, and the Steelers were up for the challenge, limiting Mr. Jackson and the Ravens to very little on offense
The Steelers now have to be the favorites to win the AFC North, as the Ravens have proven to be a disappointment especially away from home.
COLTS 28 JETS 27The JETS' season is just about over, cannot blame former Head Coach Robert Saleh for this one.
Very entertaining game, ended up as a Colts 28-27 victory, keeping them alive for the playoffs (especially as the Texans have not been playing their best football
BILLS 30 CHIEFS 21A great game, and a possible AFC Championship game preview?
Back and forth, back and forth, not necessarily that dazzling of a game like the Bengals-Chargers, but neither team really dominated.
Josh Allen with that clinching TD run at the end put the Chiefs away
SAINTS 35 BROWNS 14Jameis Winston returned to New Orleans to face his old team, as what started out as a close game devolved into a blowout 35-14 win for the Saints.
All of the so-called "experts" were picking the Browns in this game, except us. It helps when you have attended multiple Saints' games in-person and understand that environment and that crowd.
Did these "experts" not realize that Jameis was Derek Carr's backup last season? So, now they were picking a road team with a backup quarterback to beat the man who started in front of him? NOPE.
BRONCOS 34 FALCONS 6Bo Nix showed why he is the second-best rookie QB in the 2024 Quarterback class (only Jayden Daniels is playing better)
So many others were picking the Falcons in this game, but if you look closer at their wins, they have had a lot of help along the way, not this time at Mile High
CHARGERS 34 BENGALS 27Without debate, this was the most entertaining and best game of the week.
As we picked the Chargers in this one, we felt great as the Chargers race out to a 27-6 lead midway through the 3rd Quarter.
After that, however, it was all Bengals as Joey B and the Bengals put up 21 unanswered points, twice scoring touchdowns on Fourth Down plays.
Ironically, after all of Burrow and Herbert and their passing, it was a last-minute touchdown run by J.K. Dobbins that broke the tie and sealed the win for the BOLTS
SEAHAWKS 20 49ERS 17Ok, so maybe the 49ers are not quite back. We cry foul on this one, not knowing how many 49ers players would not be playing which would have affected our pick.
Even so, the 49ers offense looked really sluggish, and just not all that impressive as they only managed 17 points at home.
The defense was also very ordinary, as they allowed Geno Smith to practically walk in to the end zone for the game-winning Touchdown.
EAGLES 26 COMMANDERS 18Not one of the best games of the season by far, with a very slow and boring first half. One obvious pattern with the Eagles is that they simply do not score much in the first half.
To us, the gameplan seems to be to wear down the opponent with strong running and play action passing and then take advantage of their fatigue in the second half.
And even though the offense was sluggish for 3 quarters, that improved defense did a great job containing Jayden Daniels (who still seems like he is bothered by that rib injury)
BET RESULT: We took the EAGLES in this one, and got an early line of -2.0 for ONE UNIT WIN. Eagles won by 8 so they covered the closing line of -3.5
